A Grodno choreographer Eugene Yakush decided to prove that famous Van Damme’s split in the advertisement of Volvo between trucks can be done without a belay.
Eugene filmed a video in which he was in a situation faced by the heroes of the Van Damme in his famous films.
Consider it yourself. Van Damme was performing the trick on the new Volvo, while Yakush used Zaporozhets of the year 1969 release, which could not go uniformly, as they periodically vibrated and continuously slithered. When the cars were speeding up, dancer’s legs’ ligaments could tear at any moment.
In the clip, Volvo roads were specially marked, whereas the drivers of Zaporozhets moved relying only on their intuition.
Van Damme had a special belay for the feet, while Yakush was going without it, at his own risk. Also, it was raining, the surface of the cars was slippery and Eugene’s legs were constantly slipping.
But, despite all the difficulties the video was released. Its result is available.
